From blocks of raw teak wood found in a warehouse, we set about designing and making a chair for a local painter. She had a list of requirements where she wanted a place to rest her hands and her feet, while providing enough surface area for her to rest on, and to also lean back if needed.
With the specifications, we set about figuring out the general design, we decided on the herringbone pattern to bring out the beauty of the unique thai teakwood that we had. The sapwood and heartwood lines was perfect for this execution.
Joined with plenty of traditional wood joinery, we wanted the chair to last a lifetime.
